Patna, April 12, 2024: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday dismissed RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s claim of providing jobs during the Grand Alliance regime, asserting that the recruitments were carried out under his own government’s initiative.
“Providing jobs to the common people has been the priority of our government from the very beginning. Even during the Grand Alliance government, it was our administration that made large-scale recruitments. Tejashwi has no role in it. He kept talking nonsense, so I threw him out of power,” Kumar said while addressing a rally in Nawada district.
Nitish Kumar admits the mistake of joining the Grand Alliance twice:
The Chief Minister added that he had made a “mistake” twice by joining hands with the RJD and would now remain with the NDA permanently. He also appealed to voters to support BJP candidate Vivek Thakur in the Lok Sabha elections.
Nitish Kumar also launched a sharp attack on the past governments of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, blaming them for lawlessness and underdevelopment.
“When they were in power, Bihar had a serious law-and-order problem. People were afraid to step out of their homes in the evening. There were no proper roads, and girls would drop out of school after class 5. After I came to power in 2005, we fixed these issues. Today, Bihar has improved road connectivity, better law and order, education, health facilities, and overall development,” he said.
Slip of tongue moment:
During his speech, Nitish Kumar briefly made a slip of the tongue, saying the NDA would win “more than 4,000 seats” in the Lok Sabha polls. Realizing the error, he quickly corrected himself, asserting that the NDA would secure “more than 400 seats” in the country.
