Patna, December 27, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday visited Takht Shri Harimandir Sahib Gurdwara, Patna Sahib, where he bowed his head in reverence and offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the state.
CM Nitish Kumar visited the Takht Shri Harimandir Sahib amid the 359th Prakash Parv is currently underway in Patna.
On the occasion, Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, JDU Working President Sanjay Jha, Minister Ashok Choudhary, and several other senior leaders accompanied the Chief Minister.
Gurudwara management committee honoured Nitish Kumar:
The Takht Shri Harimandir Sahib Management Committee welcomed Nitish Kumar and accompanying leaders by presenting them with Siropa (Traditional robes of honour).
Kumar paid obeisance at the shrine of Guru Govind Singh Ji Maharaj and sought blessings for the people of Bihar.
Takht Shri Harimandir Sahib is the birthplace of the tenth Sikh Guru and is one of the five sacred Takht (Seats of authority) of Sikhism.
Guru Govind Singh Ji was born in Patna in 1666 and later founded the Khalsa Panth, giving Sikhism a new direction and shaping it into a strong, united community.
The Gurudwara, known for its magnificent architecture blending Sikh and Mughal styles, houses a sacred chamber containing Guru Govind Singh Ji’s childhood belongings.
It is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Sikhs, attracting millions of devotees from across the world every year.
Inspection of development projects:
After the religious visit, Kumar inspected the under-construction tunnel connecting the Bihar Museum and the Patna Museum.
Officials briefed him on the progress and current status of the project.
Nitish Kumar instructed that the work be completed efficiently and within the stipulated timeframe.
Once completed, the tunnel will enable visitors to move seamlessly between the two museums, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
Kumar also toured the Bihar Museum, observed various exhibits, and reviewed the facilities available for visitors.
In addition, he reviewed the progress of the redevelopment work at the officers’ campus.
Officials informed him that the construction of the multi-story complex will significantly improve accommodation facilities for officers.
