CM Nitish Kumar launches Rs 827 crore development projects in Samastipur under Samriddhi Yatra.

Patna, January 29, 2026: As part of the ongoing Samriddhi Yatra (Prosperity Journey), Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday laid the foundation stone of 71 projects, inaugurated 74 completed projects, and launched work on 43 new projects in Samastipur district.
The combined cost of these development initiatives is Rs 827 crore.
The Chief Minister arrived in Samastipur on Thursday morning, where he held a public interaction program and reviewed the progress of various development and welfare schemes being implemented in the district.
He also assessed projects launched earlier during the Pragati Yatra.
Nitish Kumar visited the district engineering college:
During his Yatra, Nitish Kumar inspected the engineering college and inaugurated the newly constructed Amenity Hall building.
He interacted with students and later visited departmental exhibition stalls set up on the college premises, showcasing various government schemes.
The Chief Minister also distributed cheques to beneficiaries of development schemes and laid foundation stones for multiple projects aimed at accelerating the overall development of Samastipur.

He inspected the under-construction RCC bridge and bypass road at Hakimabad and reviewed development works undertaken under Seven Resolution 2 and Seven Resolution 3.
Later, addressing a large public gathering at the Housing Board Ground, Nitish Kumar highlighted the development policies, achievements, and welfare initiatives of his government.

Present on the occasion were Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Rajya Sabha MP and JDU National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha, Union Minister of State Ramnath Thakur, District in-charge Minister Shrawan Kumar, Cabinet Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Samastipur MP Shambhavi Choudhary, along with senior government officials and other dignitaries.
Thursday marked the third day of the second phase of the Samriddhi Yatra.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar visited Madhubani and Darbhanga, where he inaugurated and launched several development projects.
The first phase of the Samriddhi Yatra began from West Champaran on January 16.
