Patna, December 6, 2025: At the JDU’s grand meeting in Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a major announcement and formally launched the party’s new membership drive.
What followed on stage was an unusual yet striking scene, senior leaders rushing to receive their membership directly from the Chief Minister.
CM Nitish Kumar was the first to accept party membership.
Immediately after, JDU Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha received membership from Nitish Kumar.
In turn, CM Nitish Kumar handed the membership card back to Sanjay Jha, symbolizing mutual trust and coordination within the party’s top leadership.

Once the membership distribution began, excitement surged on the stage.
Several leaders queued up, hoping to take membership directly from the CM.
Party insiders said this enthusiasm reflects the renewed energy within the JDU following its strong performance in the Assembly elections.
It is worth noting that political parties generally provide membership for a fixed term, usually one or two years, after which leaders and workers must renew it.
The JDU officially rolled out this year’s membership campaign at today’s event.
After Sanjay Jha, senior leader Narayan Singh received party membership.
The CM later accepted his membership card from state president Umesh Kushwaha.
During this time, the hall echoed with chants of CM Nitish Zindabad.

Sanjay Kumar Jha also congratulated the Chief Minister on behalf of the party after the World Book of Records, London, acknowledged Nitish Kumar’s historic achievement.
In a letter issued yesterday, the World Book of Records stated that leading a state for ten consecutive terms is a rare and exceptional accomplishment in democratic politics.
The letter described Nitish Kumar’s consistent work in governance, development initiatives, social welfare and administrative stability as inspirational for millions.
The organization mentioned that it would be honoured to formally include the CM in its prestigious global list and present him with an official certificate for this milestone.
With this latest recognition, the CM has further cemented his place in history, having taken oath as Chief Minister of Bihar for a record 10th time.
