CM Nitish Kumar launches 71 projects worth Rs 202 crore during Samriddhi Yatra in Siwan.

Patna, January 22, 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on the sixth day of his ongoing Samriddhi Yatra (Prosperity Journey), visited Siwan district on Thursday, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 71 development projects.
According to official information, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 40 projects and inaugurated 31 projects, with a combined cost of Rs 202 crore.
During his visit, Nitish Kumar also went to the Government Medical College in Mairwa, where he inaugurated facilities in the newly constructed building, marking a significant step towards improving healthcare infrastructure in the district.
Nitish Kumar distributed cheques to beneficiaries:
At a program venue, Nitish Kumar inspected stalls set up by various government departments showcasing schemes and initiatives.
He also distributed cheques to beneficiaries under different development and welfare schemes of the state government.

Nitish Kumar held a public interaction program at Rajendra Stadium, where he reviewed the progress of ongoing projects and directed officials to ensure speedy implementation and timely completion of development work.
Reiterating the commitment made under the Seven-Resolution Part 3, Nitish Kumar said the government aims to create one crore jobs and employment opportunities and work towards doubling people’s income through continuous development efforts.
Yatra coverage and upcoming schedule:
The Samriddhi Yatra has so far covered West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Gopalganj, and Saran, with the government inaugurating and laying foundation stones for development projects worth thousands of crores across these districts.
The Yatra began from West Champaran on January 16, will continue till January 24.
It will include visits to Muzaffarpur on January 23 and Vaishali on January 24.
The visit is being described as a significant day for Siwan, with announcements and inaugurations related to key development works generating enthusiasm among residents.

Projects linked to Panchayat buildings, health, education, and other sectors are expected to provide a major boost to the district’s overall development.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, Cabinet Minister Pramod Kumar, Siwan MP Vijayalaxmi Devi, Maharajganj MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal, senior officials, and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
