Patna, December 24, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inspected the under-construction buildings of the Bihar Health Science University and Bihar Engineering University at Mithapur in Patna.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister was briefed on the progress of construction work of the Bihar Engineering University by Dr Pratima S Verma, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology and Technical Education.
He was also briefed on the construction of the Bihar Health Sciences University by Lokesh Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Health Department.
Addressing officials during the inspection, CM Nitish Kumar said that both universities have been established with the objective of providing high-quality technical and medical education to students of Bihar.

He instructed officials to ensure that the construction of all buildings of both universities is completed efficiently and within the stipulated time frame.
The Chief Minister noted that several prestigious educational institutions, such as the Chandragupta Institute of Management, Aryabhatta Knowledge University, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Chanakya National Law University, and Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University, have already been established in the Mithapur area.
Nitish Kumar said that the completion of these two new universities will further contribute to the overall development of the region.
Bihar Engineering University:
The Bihar Engineering University was established on July 27, 2022, and five acres of land were allocated in Mithapur, Patna, for its permanent campus.
The main academic building is designed as a four-storey structure with a total build-up area of 1,11,732 square feet.
The Dean’s office, Registrar’s office, cafeteria, and other administrative offices will be established on the ground floor.
The Vice-Chancellor’s office, meeting hall, and evaluation centre will be on the first floor, and the second floor comprises office rooms, evaluation centre, and storehouse.
The third floor will have archive rooms and a storehouse, and the fourth floor comprises of evaluation centre and two large multipurpose halls.
In addition, an eight-room guesthouse with four suites and a caretaker’s residence is also being constructed on the campus.
Bihar Health Science University:
Under the Seven Resolution 2 (Saat Nischay 2) scheme, aimed at strengthening medical education in Bihar, the construction of the new building of the Bihar Health Science University is underway.
The project covers a total area of 27,567 square metres, area is divided into two parts.
The main university building will have administrative and academic blocks, examination halls, dispensary, multipurpose stage, waiting rooms, information centre, enrolment branch, Chancellor’s office and training and placement branch.
An ancillary building will be built at 14,922 square metres area and it will have the Vice Chancellor’s residence, the university guest house, and a multipurpose auditorium.
