Designed to significantly ease traffic congestion and improve transit connectivity in the city’s busiest transit corridor, the project is expected to bring major relief from traffic Jams between GPO Golambar and Patna Junction Golambar, particularly during peak hours.

Until now, inadequate parking and disorganized vehicles had caused considerable inconvenience for commuters.

With this new facility, buses and autos currently stationed near the GPO Golambar will now be diverted to the newly constructed hub, creating a more streamlined and organized traffic flow.

The new facility will be opened to the general public on May 18.

Nitish Kumar expressed happiness during the inauguration:

“It is a matter of great happiness that it has been completed,” CM Nitish Kumar said during the inauguration.

“There was nothing here earlier now a full facility is built. We had been monitoring the progress, and today it is finally ready,” he added.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister directed Patna District Magistrate Chandrasekhar Singh to ensure the new hub is effectively showcased to the media, highlighting its significance to the public.

Features of the multi-model hub:

The multi-model parking near Patna Junction is designed to be energy-efficient, with a solar power system installed on the rooftop to meet the electricity requirements of the facility.

The parking area is located 440 meters from Patna Junction and will feature four travel ways of varying lengths 18 meters, 30 meters, 45 meters, and 55 meters to facilitate easy movement of people between the parking and key locations.

The facility will also include two escalators and two underground box area lifts for added convenience.

Traffic management overhaul:

Traffic SP Aparajit Lohan stated that new traffic routes have been finalized to reduce congestion and avoid chaos.

The upgraded system will follow strict regulatory mechanisms, ensuring that traffic from multiple modes of transport is systematically managed at the hub.

The hub represents a modern, eco-friendly approach to urban mobility and is expected to become a model for future projects across the state.
