Patna, May 9, 2024: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president Chirag Paswan narrowly escaped a major accident on Friday after one of the wheels of his helicopter sank into the ground while landing in Ujiarpur, Samastipur district.

According to sources, the incident occurred when Chirag Paswan arrived in Mohaddinagar to address a public meeting in support of Minister of State for Home Affairs and BJP candidate Nityanand Rai.

The helicopter in wherein Chirag Paswan boarded sank due to a soft surface:

As the helicopter landed, one of its wheels sank into the soft soil of the helipad, which had been constructed just a few days earlier.

The pilot, however, managed to maintain control and safely stabilize the aircraft, preventing a possible mishap.

A photograph of the incident has surfaced, reportedly shared from Chirag Paswan’s office.

It shows the helicopter’s wheel partly submerged in mud. The soil had become loose due to recent rainfall, an official said.

Political leaders are intensifying their campaign in Bihar:

Political leaders across parties have been extensively using helicopters for election campaigning, with multiple rallies scheduled across constituencies each day.

Concerns over safety have been raised on several occasions.

Recently, a picture showing Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s helicopter appearing unstable during take-off also went viral, though his office later denied any such incident.

Polling in the Ujiarpur Lok Sabha constituency will take place in the fourth phase on May 13, and leaders from all parties are intensifying their campaign efforts to secure victory.
