Chitaranjan Gagan alleged state-centre ignored Raghuvansh Prasad’s wishes.

Patna September 13: Chitaranjan Gagan, the senior leader and RJD spokesperson has accused the state and central government of ignoring former central minister late Dr Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and throwing the announcement made after his death into the dustbin.

“After his death, the Chief Minister had announced that the state government would soon take the initiative to fulfill the demands made by Raghuvansh Prasad. The Prime Minister also said that the central government is ready to provide all kinds of help to the state government to fulfill Raghuvansh Prasad’s demand but four years have passed and not a single demand of his has been fulfilled till now,” Chitaranjan Gagan said.

“It is very unfortunate and disrespectful that the government has not taken any initiative regarding his demands till now,” he said.

Chitaranjan Gagan said that Raghuvansh Prasad had regrets about not completing some works in his lifetime, which he had written a letter to the Chief Minister and Irrigation Minister before his death and requested to fulfill.

“With the aim of taking immediate political advantage, the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister had made a public announcement to fulfill his demands. But four years have passed and no action has been taken in that direction till now,” Chitaranjan Gagan alleged.

Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh had demanded in a letter written to the Chief Minister before his death that on the occasion of Independence Day and Republic Day every year, a government function should be organized at Vaishali Fort and the flag should be hoisted by His Excellency the Governor or the Chief Minister like there was a tradition of flag hoisting in Patna and Ranchi in unified Bihar.

In another letter written to the Chief Minister, he had demanded to bring Lord Buddha’s alms bowl from Afghanistan to Vaishali. In another letter written to the Chief Minister, Raghuvansh Prasad had demanded to connect common farmers with MNREGA. This will provide work to the laborers and along with the availability of laborers, the financial burden of the farmers will also be reduced.

In a letter addressed to the irrigation minister, Raghuvansh had requested to bring the Kataunjha stream of Muzaffarpur between the two embankments to protect the house of socialist thinker and writer Ramvriksha Benipuri, to build a small bridge on the Gandak canal in Sahebganj, Motipur and Vaishali of Muzaffarpur district, to widen the right dam of Malmala canal in Mahanar block of Vaishali district and build a road and to install a sluice gate in the canal in Shahpur.

“The elements against whom Raghuvansh Prasad fought all his life, those elements could not face him while he was alive but after he became unconscious, the same elements, under a well-planned conspiracy, on the basis of an imaginary story, committed an unpardonable crime against his noble soul and also made a cheap attempt to take political advantage by misinterpreting the letters written by him,” Chitaranjan Gagan said.
