Patna, January 15, 2026: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan on Thursday extended his best wishes to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his upcoming Samridhi Yatra, which will begin on January 16 from Bettiah in West Champaran district.
Chirag Paswan made the remarks while hosting a traditional Makar Sankranti Dahi-Chura feast at the party office in Patna.
Several senior leaders of the NDA attended the event, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, BJP National Working President Nitin Nabin, former Union Law Minister Ravishankar Prasad, Bihar Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav, and other prominent leaders.
Nitish Kumar has done many Yatras for the progress of Bihar, says Chirag Paswan:
Congratulating the Chief Minister, Chirag Paswan said that Nitish Kumar has undertaken several Yatras in the past and expressed confidence in the success of the upcoming one.
“Nitish Kumar has undertaken many Yatras earlier, and he is doing it once again. I extend my best wishes to him. Under his leadership, Bihar has come a long way on the development front,” Paswan said.
He further stated that discussions during the event focused on strengthening development initiatives at the grassroots level.
We were discussing how to take the concept of Bihar First, Bihari First, to the grassroots. Our entire alliance is united in making Bihar a developed state. This will contribute to achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of Vikshit Bharat by 2027,” Paswan added.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also extended his best wishes to the people of Bihar and expressed optimism about the Chief Minister’s Samridhi Yatra.
He said that Bihar has made significant progress under Nitish Kumar’s tenure and that the yatra would further strengthen development efforts across the state.
Chirag Paswan says Tej Pratap is his younger brother:
Reacting to speculation about Tej Pratap Yadav possibly joining the NDA, Chirag Paswan said that any decision would be taken collectively if such a proposal comes formally.
“Until a formal decision is made, it is not appropriate to comment. He comes from a family that is also my family. However, family is one thing, and politics is another. Tej Pratap Yadav is my younger brother, and I have a lot of affection for him and wish him well for the future,” Paswan said.
