Patna, October 7, 2025: With the model code of conduct implemented in Bihar, Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas (LJPRV) on Tuesday appointed Jamui MP Arun Bharti as election in-charge and state president Raju Tiwari as deputy election in-charge for the upcoming polls.
A formal letter regarding these appointments was issued by Abdul Khalik, the party’s national General Secretary, stating that the decisions were made under the direction of Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan.
The letter also mentioned that all previous appointments to those positions stand cancelled with immediate effect.
With this, Arun Bharti and Raju Tiwari will now oversee all election-related responsibilities, including candidate selection, campaign management and strategy formulation.
Chirag Paswan emerged as a strong ally in the NDA post 2024 Lok Sabha polls:
This development holds significance within the NDA alliance, especially as the seat-sharing formula is yet to be finalized.
The LJPRV, which has emerged as a strong regional political force in Bihar, currently has five MPs in the Lok Sabha.
Party sources said that the delay in finalizing the seat-sharing arrangements stems from Chirag Paswan’s firm demand for a respectable number of seats.
LJP contested independently in the 2020 Bihar polls:
Earlier, Arun Bharti had stated that the party expects between 43 and 137 seats to contest the Bihar Assembly polls. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, the then undivided LJP contested 137 seats independently, winning just one, whose MLA later joined the JDU.
However, the political landscape has shifted significantly since then.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Chirag Paswan’s LJPRV contested five seats under the NDA banner and won all five, achieving a 100% strike rate.
This stellar performance has strengthened Chirag Paswan’s bargaining position within the alliance ahead of the Bihar Assembly election.
