
Buxar police arrested two members of the solver gang.
Patna August 7: Buxar police arrested two members of a solver gang who were trying to cheat potential candidates during the Central Selection Board constable recruitment re-examination on Wednesday.
Manish Kumar, the Superintendent of Buxar Police confirms the development. He said that the accused were arrested from a hotel in Dumraon.
“In a bid to conduct a fair examination, separate teams of Buxar police conducted the checking campaign in all hotels, lodges, Dharmshala, hostels and other places. During the checking into a hotel in Dumraon, we apprehended two youths. Our team also seized 145 admit cards, answer sheets, 6 debit cards and 3 mobile phones from their possessions,” Kumar said.
The accused are identified as Chotelal Chaurasia and Raushan Chaurashia, both of them are residents of Bhabhua in Kaimur district.
“During police interrogation, both the accused confessed that they filed the form with different names and used it to enter any examination centre. Following that, they target potential candidates who are sitting nearby in the examination hall with the promise to help in solving the questions. the officials of Buxar police have found 145 admit cards from their mobile phones,” Kumar said.
“We are making efforts to find out other members of the gang,” he said.
The Bihar police have made extensive preparations to make constable recruitment examination malpractice-free. Cyber police stations and the Economic Offence Unit (EOU) are monitoring social media. The local police have been instructed to keep a close watch on hostels, lodges, coaching centres and other institutions where candidates and students gather. Every room and other important places will be monitored with CCTV.
A vacancy was issued for 21391 posts of constable in Bihar Police last year and the examination was conducted on 1 October 2023. However, it was cancelled due to the leak of the paper on the same day.
The re-examination of constable recruitment started today and it will be conducted in six phases till 28 August.

The authority has conducted the examination at 545 centres in 38 district headquarters. A total of 17, 87,720 candidates have registered for the examination.
