Patna, December 13, 2025: While the Passing out Parade ceremony itself was grand, it was an unusual moment during the parade inspection when CM Nitish Kumar called his deputy and other ministers to join him on board the jeep.

Traditionally, during such inspections, the Chief Minister and Director General of Police (DGP) ride together in the inspection jeep.

This long-standing protocol was initially followed when DGP Vinay Kumar escorted the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to the jeep.

Nitish Kumar called ministers to join him:

However, the scene changed dramatically when Nitish personally called Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to join him.

Though Samrat Choudhary appeared hesitant, he boarded the jeep following the CM’s instructions.

The surprise did not end there. CM Nitish then summoned Vijay Kumar Choudhary and later called Shravan Kumar.

Shravan Kumar initially declined politely, folding his hands and saying, “You go ahead, sir,” but Nitish Kumar insisted repeatedly.

As a result, the Inspection was conducted with the Chief Minister, the DGP, and three ministers together in the same jeep, a clear departure from protocol.

Message of unity or informal gesture:

This rare moment has sparked political debate.

Was it merely an informal gesture by the Chief Minister, or a deliberate signal that the government and the system are united?

Whatever the interpretation, Nitish Kumar’s confident and commanding presence at Rajgir, appearing unfazed by conventions, has once again become a subject of discussion in Bihar’s political landscape.
