Patna, September 12, 2025: The 71st Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will be conducted on Saturday (September 13), in a single shift from 12 noon to 2 p.m.
This year, more than 4.7 lakh candidates will appear for the exam at 912 centres across 37 districts of the state.
A total of 1,298 posts will be filled through the recruitment process.
BPSC exam arrangements:
In Patna alone, over 50,000 candidates will give the exam at 70 centres.
The commission has not given Centres in Gaya due to the ongoing Pitru Paksha Fair.
Entry to centres will begin at 9.30 am, and no candidate will be allowed after 11 am. Candidates will not be permitted to leave the exam hall before 2 PM.
Exam pattern:
The paper will have 150 objective questions, with a duration of two hours.
This examination has negative marking. One-third marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
The use of blades, erasers, whiteners or markers on answer sheets is strictly prohibited.
All exam centres will be equipped with CCTV cameras and jammers. Biometric attendance of candidates will be recorded, and the exam will be monitored online. Candidates caught in malpractice will be barred from all BPSC exams for the next five years.
Administration will deal strictly with those spreading rumours. They will face a three-year ban from appearing in exams.
Grievance redressal:
BPSC has introduced a new provision. Candidates with objections to the question paper or exam process can file a written complaint with an affidavit from a notary within 48 hours of the examination.
The BPSC has urged aspirants to rely only on its official website for information and avoid rumours.
