BJP’s Rituraj Sinha criticized Tejashwi Yadav over his 100% domicile policy remarks.

Patna, June 15, 2025: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary Rituraj Sinha has sharply criticized Tejashwi Yadav over his recent announcement to implement a 100% domicile policy in Bihar if voted to power, calling it a “politically immature” move that threatens the future of the youth.
Rituraj Sinha termed the proposed policy a “deceptive strategy” aimed solely at electoral gains, warning that it would hurt both Bihar and its youth.
“This policy is not only against the interests of Biharis but also a political drama designed for votes,” said Sinha, attacking Tejashwi for what he described as policy confusion and short-sighted populism.
Sinha highlighted the contradiction in RJD’s stance, noting that while the party claims to attract investment to Bihar, it simultaneously seeks to bar non-residents from government jobs.
“This mindset doesn’t reflect Bihar’s progressive aspirants, but the narrow political thinking of the Lalu family,” he added.
Rituraj Sinha is concerned about its adverse impact on Biharis in other states:
Citing that 7.454 crore Biharis have migrated for employment; Sinha raised concerns about possible retaliatory domicile laws in other states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka.
“If Bihar adopts such a restrictive policy, won’t other states follow suit? Has Tejashwi considered the consequences for lakhs of Biharis working outside?” he questioned.
Rituraj Sinha also claimed that non-Bihari participation in government jobs in Bihar is fewer than 5%, questioning the logic of introducing a policy that could put lakhs of local youth at risk just to restrict a small percentage of applicants.
Constitutional violation alleged:
The BJP leader pointed out that the proposed policy violates Article 16 (2) of the Indian Constitution, which prohibits discrimination in public employment based on place of birth or residence.
“Those who invoke the Constitution should first read it,” Sinha said, referring to Supreme Court rulings that have previously struck down domicile-based quotas in Haryana and PG medical admissions.
He also cited the failure of earlier recruitment drives in Bihar where restrictions on Bihar candidates led to a shortage of qualified teachers in Key subjects like Mathematics and Science.
Rituraj Sinha claims Tejashwi is playing with the youth’s future:
Sinha accused Tejashwi Yadav and the RJD of exploiting youth sentiment for political mileage, warning that such reckless policymaking has already done more harm than good.

“Bihar needs a constitutional, inclusive, and visionary approach, not thoughtless decisions that endanger the prospects of our youth,” Sinha concluded.
