Patna, September 25, 2025: The BJP has appointed Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Education Minister, as in-charge of the party’s election cell for the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.
According to a letter issued by Arun Singh, BJP’s national general secretary and headquarter in-charge, Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya have been named as deputy in-charge.
Dharmendra Pradhan’s appointment was made at the direction of the party’s president:
The appointments were made at the direction of the party’s national president, Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Sources have said that Dharmendra Pradhan, C. R. Patil and Keshav Prasad Maurya will soon visit Patna to hold strategy meetings with state leaders and review preparations for the election.
Main contest between the NDA and the Grand Alliance:
The Bihar Assembly has 243 seats, with the contest expected to be a direct fight between the ruling NDA, led by Nitish Kumar and the Grand Alliance, which includes RJD, Congress, CPI-ML, CPI, CPIM, and VIP.
Although the date of the polling is not announced yet, political activities are already in full swing.

The state government has been directed to complete the transfer and posting before October 6, signalling that the election process may begin soon.
The 2025 Bihar Assembly election is being viewed as a prestigious battle for both blocs, with the NDA seeking to retain power and the opposition aiming to reclaim its lost ground.
