Patna, June 25, 2024: After Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to comment on rising crime incidents in Bihar post the Lok Sabha election, BJP and JDU leaders launched sharp counter-attacks and demanded the RJD spell out crime figures from the Lalu-Rabri regime (1990-2005).

BJP leader Samrat Choudhary said Tejashwi Yadav should first question his own family leadership:

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said Tejashwi Yadav should first question his own family leadership.

“During the Lalu-Rabri era, hooliganism and extortion took place from the Chief Minister’s residence. Lalu Prasad himself used to do ‘panchayat’ sittings. He is the symbol of hooliganism in Bihar,” Choudhary alleged.

BJP leader Samrat Choudhary added that the public had already “taught RJD a lesson” and claimed the current administration is functioning as per law.

JDU, MLC and Chief Spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said the Nitish Kumar government takes action whenever crime occurs, and cited NCRB figures from the 1990-2005 period.

“There were 5,243 kidnapping-for-ransom cases in the Lalu-Rabri regime. Tejashwi should ask his father and mother about that,” he said.

Vijay  Kumar Sinha targeted  Tejashwi Yadav:

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha accused Tejashwi of misleading through social media posts.

“There is a rule of law in Bihar. Wherever crime takes place, the administration acts. Instead of answering about his relationship with NEET paper leak accused Sikander Yadavendu, he keeps making false statements,” Sinha said.

Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav shared a list of 33 alleged crime incidents after the Lok Sabha election, and demanded a response from PM Modi.

In a post on X, Tejashwi wrote that the PM remembers “Jungle Raj” only during elections and should comment on crime, “In a double-engine government.”

Tejashwi’s compilation mentions incidents including the killing of a 25-year-old woman in Sheikhpura, the murder of a youth in Kaimur, an attack on a civil court employee, a brutal killing in Madhepura, a murder in Araria and a knife attack on a journalist in Bettiah.
