Bihar police transferred 29 IPS officers.

Patna, September 12: In a major reshuffle within Bihar police, 29 IPS officers were transferred on Thursday.

A notification in this regard was issued from the Home Department of Bihar regarding these transfers, dated September 12, 2024. The reshuffle comes amidst growing criticism of the state government over the rising crime rate in Bihar. It has recent appointed Alok Raj as a new Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar police.

Since taking charge, the new DGP of Bihar Police has been focusing on taking swift action to address the law and order situation in the state.

As per the notification, Patna City SP (Central) Chandra Prakash has been appointed as Superintendent of Police Jamui, while Patna’s West SP Abhinav Dhiman has been assigned to lead as the Superintendent of Police Nawada.

Swapna Gautam Meshram who was the SP of Aurangabad, has been given the charge of Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP) 3. He has been appointed to the post of commandant, Deepak Ranjan has taken the role of Assistant Inspector General of Police BSAP Bihar.

Shailesh Kumar Singh is the new Superintendent of Police of Sheohar, Upendranath Verma has been made  Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police 10, and Dr Gaurav Mangal is the new Assistant Inspector General of Police Railway Bihar Patna.

D Amarkesh has been assigned as Superintendent of Police for the Cyber Training Portal and Coordinator Economic Offenses Unit.

Pankaj Kumar has been made Superintendent of Police State Crime Records Bureau in Bihar Patna, Kartikeya K Sharma is the new Superintendent of Police Purnea, and Jitendra Kumar has taken over as an SP of the Weaker Sections and Women Cell.

Vinay Tiwari is appointed as the Superintendent of Police Railway Muzaffarpur. He was earlier the SP of Samastipur.

While Ashok Mishra has been made Superintendent of Police Samastipur, Anant Kumar Rai has been appointed as the Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police 16, and Swarn Prabhat has been given the command of Superintendent of Police East Champaran (Motihari). He was earlier the SP of Gopalganj. Awadhesh Saroj Dixit has been made Superintendent of Police Gopalganj. He was earlier a City SP of Muzaffarpur.

Roshan Kumar is given the charge of the Superintendent of Police Rohtas, Patna’s East SP Bharat Soni has been appointed as Superintendent of Police Nalanda, Mr. Raj is appointed as Superintendent of Police Bhojpur, Shubham Arya will be the Superintendent of Police of Buxar, Ajay Kumar will take charge as Superintendent of Police of Lakhisarai and Bam Bam Chaudhary has been given the charge of Superintendent of Police Surveillance Investigation Bureau Bihar Patna.

These strategic appointments aim to address the growing law and order concerns and ensure effective policing under the new leadership in Bihar.
