Bihar Home Department has transferred 7 IPS officers ahead of assembly elections.

Patna, June 23, 2025: In a significant administrative move ahead of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, the Home Department of the Bihar government transferred seven IPS officers on Monday.
A notification to this effect was issued by the department.
Among them, Garima Malik, IG of Central Region, has been appointed as the Inspector General of Vigilance.
Rakesh Rathi has been made the Inspector General of Police, Special Branch.
Jitendra Rana, who was awaiting posting, has been assigned the role of IG Central Region.
S.Premalatha, previously Vigilance IG, has now been made the IG (Technical).
Manoj Kumar Tiwari, SP of CID, has been appointed as SP, Siwan.
Amitesh Kumar, earlier posted as Siwan SP, has been transferred to SP, Special Branch.
K. Ramdas, Assistant Director of Bihar Police Academy, has been made SP, CID.
Home Department earlier transferred SP rank officers on June 14:
This is the second major IPS reshuffle this month, with another round of transfers on June 14 that included SP-level changes in six districts including Patna.

SDPO transfers:
Additionally, the Home Department transferred 19 Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) across Bihar on June 21, among them; Awadhesh Kumar has been posted as SDPO, Fatuha (Patna).
The reshuffle is seen as a strategic step to bolster the state’s law and order machinery in view of the upcoming elections.
