The people of Bihar have huge expectations from the 8 ministers of the central government
Patna June 11: A day after the distribution of ministry portfolios in the central government, the 8 MPs of Bihar who are part of it, have the responsibility to turn the fortunes of the state.
Bihar is considered one of the most backward states in the country and whichever party stay in the opposition, always the special status of the state.
However, none of the governments which stayed in centre, paid attention to this issue and the situation is expected to remain the same in the third term of the Narendra Modi government as well.
After the recently concluded Lok Sabha election where the importance of the regional parties like JD (U), LJPRV, and HAMS have enhanced more thanks to the fractured mandate in terms of parties and as a result, 8 MPs were picked for the post of ministers including 4 cabinet ranks from Bihar.
The people of Bihar are expecting developments in the state through 8 ministers and a double-engine government in the state.
Four cabinet ministers from Bihar have been made in the Narendra Modi cabinet. Lalan Singh, Chirag Paswan, Giriraj Singh and Jitan Ram Manjhi have the status of cabinet minister. All four of them have been given the responsibility of important ministries. These are such departments in which employment opportunities can be created.
JD (U) MP Lalan Singh has the responsibility of Panchayati Raj and Animal Husbandry, fisheries and dairy departments. Development work is done through Panchayat in Bihar and the Panchayati Raj Department will play an important role in this development. Apart from this, a lot needs to be done for Bihar in the field of animal husbandry and fisheries. Bihar is performing well, especially in fish production. There are large numbers of water harvesting areas in Bihar. Both these departments can take the state on the path of progress.
Chirag Paswan has been entrusted with the Food Processing ministry. There is immense potential for employment in the food processing industry.
“I represent the constituency Hajipur which is known for Banana farming. Several products can be produced through Banana. In a bid to achieve my vision of “The Bihar first Bihari first” concept, I have in mind to develop food processing units in the region. Besides Banana, Makhana is another product of Bihar which is world famous. We have a big scope for the development of its industries,” said Chirag Paswan, an MP of Hajipur.
Apart from them, the Litchi farming of Muzaffarpur where development and job opportunities can be possible through the food processing units,
Former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has been made the Minister of Small and Medium Industries. There is an immense potential for industry in Bihar and Manjhi is known for making decisions. An industrial revolution is expected in Bihar under his leadership.
Giriraj Singh has been given the Ministry of Textiles. A lot needs to be done in Bihar for textile industries. Textile industries could be a turning point in the development of Bihar if it would plan strategy according to region in the state. Madhubani or Mithila painting is very popular in the Mithilanchal region. With the experience of Giriraj Singh, there are strong possibilities for development in this area as well.
Jute farming in Seemanchal and Chanpatia model of development and many other sectors have a big scope of development in Bihar.
People talk about migration as a big issue in Bihar but the Chanpatia model of development is an answer to stop migration. During the pandemic, many labouers in the Champaran region lost their jobs. They come to their native places and develop small-scale industries in their homes. People who spent their lives in places like Gujarat and Maharashtra and worked in the textile sectors have developed their own units in the Champaran region with the majority of them in Chanpatia block and hence it has become famous with the Chanpatia model of development.
Apart from this, the division of departments has also been done among four ministers of state. Nityanand Rai has again been made the Minister of State for Home. Raj Bhushan Nishad has been made the Minister of State in the Jal Shakti Department, while Satish Chandra Dubey has been made the Minister of State in the Coal and Mining Department. Ramnath Thakur has been made the Minister of State in the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department. Flood and drought problems are common in Bihar, and the Jal Shakti Department can play an important role in solving these problems. New schemes and projects can be started by the department for water harvesting and management, which will boost the agriculture and rural development of the state.
