Bihar government is prioritizing to fulfil 7 lakh jobs to benefit people before the assembly election.
Patna December 12, 2024: The Bihar government is gearing up to create a substantial number of government job opportunities in 2025, aiming to fulfil Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s commitment to providing 12 lakh jobs ahead of the assembly elections.
So far, 5 lakh jobs have been addressed, and efforts are underway to meet the target by filling an additional 7 lakh positions across various departments of the Bihar government.
A notable portion of these vacancies is in the education sector, particularly in engineering and polytechnic institutions.
The Bihar government has created posts in the science and technology department:
Sumit Kumar Singh, the Science and technology minister of the Bihar government said his department has created 5554 vacancies spread across 38 engineering colleges and 46 polytechnic institutes. 2729 posts have already been forwarded for recruitment through the General Administration Department.
The remaining 2825 posts are awaiting roster clearance for submission to the recruitment commission.
Teaching Posts in Engineering Colleges are 1545 posts including 26 Principals, 241 Professors, 594 Associate Professors and 684 Assistant Professors.
He said that 40 professor and 40 assistant professor positions have already been sent to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for recruitment. The remaining 1456 posts will be sent to the BPSC soon.
The Teaching Posts in Polytechnic Institutes are 1149, including 30 Principals, 229 Heads of Departments, 890 Lecturers and 1816 Technical posts of laboratory assistants and instructors.
“We have sent the recruitment proposal forwarded to the Technical Service Commission. The government has instructed the BPSC and Technical Service Commission to expedite the recruitment process,” Singh said.
“The government is committed to improving the quality of education in engineering and polytechnic institutes by appointing highly qualified faculty. Recruitment efforts are being prioritized to ensure that students receive a high standard of education,” Singh said.
Broader Implications:
The drive to fill these vacancies aligns with the government’s goal of addressing unemployment and enhancing educational infrastructure in Bihar. If successful, this initiative could significantly benefit job seekers in the state and improve the overall quality of technical education.
This concerted effort signals a promising year for Bihar’s unemployed youth, as the state prepares to open a floodgate of opportunities in 2025.
