Patna, April 30, 2024: Bhojpuri actress Amrita Pandey was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her flat at Divya Dharma Apartment, Adampur Ship Ghat locality of Bhagalpur district, police said on Tuesday.
Jogsar Police Station SHO Krishna Nandan confirmed that the body was discovered on April 27, around 3:30 pm.
Amrita Pandey left WhatsApp message:
Police recovered her mobile phone, which contained a WhatsApp status in Hindi.
“Do Naav Me Sawar Thi Uski Zindagi, Hamne Apna Naav Duba Kar Uska Safar Aasan Kar Diya” (“His life was in two boats, I made his journey easier by sinking mine”).
Amrita Pandey, who had acted in several Bhojpuri blockbusters alongside stars like Khesari Lal Yadav, was living in Mumbai but had returned to Bhagalpur to attend a family function.
Her sister reportedly found her dead and rushed her to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
The actress is survived by her husband, Chandamani Jhangad, an animation engineer.
Investigation of the Bhagalpur police:
Police have conducted a postmortem and preserved viscera samples for forensic analysis. “The exact cause of death will be known after the inquiry is completed,” the SHO added.
