
Anti-paper leak bill 2024 passed in Bihar assembly.
Patna July 24: The anti-paper leak bill 2024 was passed in the Bihar assembly on Wednesday. It has stringent penalties for exam-related offenses.
Under the provision of the bill, the offenders will face a jail term of up to 10 years and fines of up to Rs 1 crore. This law will apply to all the examinations conducted by the Bihar government.
Anti-paper leak bill has strong punishment: This bill has other provisions if any individual appearing in the examination in place of another candidate will face 3-5 years in jail and a fine of 10 lakhs.
If an institution is involved in exam irregularities, it will bear the cost of the examination, and its property may be confiscated.
Bihar minister slammed opposition on Anti-paper leak bill: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Chaudhary said in the Assembly that the opposition members have walked out of the House to defend the offenders. He said that the people of Bihar are also seeing how seriously the Bihar government has taken the paper leak case.

“The Bihar government is also going to implement the law. This law is stronger than the previous law which was passed in 1981. Under the previous law, the punishment for the offenders was only 6 months. This time we have made a strict law in the anti-paper leak bill. Those involved in the paper leak will be sentenced to 3 to 5 years and fined up to 10 lakhs. There is a provision of 5 to 10 years of imprisonment and fine up to 1 crore for those committing organized crime,” Chaudhary said.
Samrat Choudhary, the deputy chief minister of Bihar said: “The anti-paper leak bill 2024 has passed in the Bihar assembly and it will go to the governor for signature. After that, it will be implemented in Bihar.”
