Patna, March 10, 2026: An important inspection was carried out on the Malahi Pakdi—Khemnichak stretch of the priority corridor of the Patna Metro as part of operations for the project’s upcoming operations.
Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CMRS), conducted a detailed inspection of critical systems and passenger facilities to ensure that the corridor meets the highest standards of safety, reliability and operational readiness.
Key systems of the priority corridor inspected:
During the visit, several technical and passenger-related facilities of the priority corridor were thoroughly examined, including UPS Room, lifts and escalators, ASS Room and SCR Room, platform-level infrastructure, and Overhead Equipment (OHE) height measurements along the corridor.

Officials also reviewed electrical and mechanical (E&M) systems and other technical installations to ensure they comply with operational standards.
Officials stated that each inspection and system check brings the project one step closer to opening, marking a significant milestone in the development of modern urban transport in the city.
Malahi Pakdi Station of the priority corridor nearing completion:
Earlier, on March 6, authorities announced that the Malahi Pakdi Metro Station on the priority corridor is almost ready for operations.
The station features modern interiors and improved passenger facilities, reflecting the vision of a modern and connected Patna.
The development signals that the launch of the Patna Metro’s priority corridor is approaching, with final preparations underway.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Kumar R. Pudakalkatti, Managing Director of Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) and Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department, Bihar, also inspected progress on the underground section of the metro project.

The review covered construction work at Rajendra Nagar Metro Station and Patna University Metro Station.
During the inspection, he assessed civil construction, structural progress, safety measures and quality standards, directing officials to maintain scheduled timelines and strict compliance with technical and safety requirements.
Step towards modern urban mobility:
Officials say the inspections are crucial for continuous monitoring and quality assurance in the construction of the metro system.

Once operational, the Patna Metro is expected to transform urban mobility in the city, providing faster, safer, and more efficient transportation for residents while supporting the broader development of Patna.
