Patna, October 17, 2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah kicked off the BJP’s Bihar Assembly election campaign from Saran district on Friday, where he addressed a massive rally in Taraiya block.
Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on RJD national president Lalu Prasad Yadav, urging voters not to let Jungle Raj return in Bihar.
“I want to remind the youth about the Jungle Raj that existed 20 years ago. We must ensure it never returns,” Shah said, adding that Saran (Chhapra) was the most fitting place to make this appeal.
Amit Shah praised Nitish Kumar:
Drawing parallels between past and present political battles, Shah said, “Nitish Kumar’s fight was against Jungle Raj then, and our fight is against them now, so as to prevent them coming into power. The NDA will form the government in Bihar with the biggest majority in 20 years.”
Reaffirming the alliance’s unity, Shah stated, “We are contesting under the leadership of Nitish Kumar in Bihar, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the NDA nationally.”

Taking direct aim at the RJD, Amit Shah alleged that the opposition party continues to promote bad elements.
“I saw the RJD’s list wherein Mohammad Shahabuddin’s son’s name is on it. If they are still giving tickets to such people, can Bihar remain safe? To keep Bihar secure, a government led by Modi and Nitish Kumar must be established,” he asserted.
Amit Shah highlighted religious and infrastructural development:
Highlighting the religious and developmental achievements, Amit Shah mentioned the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the upcoming Goddess Sita temple in Punauradham in Sitamarhi, crediting Prime Minister Modi for completing the long-pending projects.
Shah also praised the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government’s welfare and infrastructure works.
“The double-engine government has provided 125 units of free electricity to 1.67 crore families, increased pensions for the elderly, widows and disabled persons, from Rs 400 to Rs 1100 and transferred Rs 10,000 to every Jivika Didis under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana to their accounts. Roads and connectivity have improved so much that it now takes no more than 5 hours to travel across Bihar,” Shah said.
