Patna, October 29, 2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce attack on the Congress and the RJD at an election rally in Darbhanga on Wednesday, accusing both parties of practicing dynastic politics and contrasting that with the BJP’s pledge to induct young leaders.

Amit Shah said Sonia Gandhi wants to make her son Prime Minister and Lalu Prasad Yadav wants to make his son Chief Minister of Bihar,” adding: “There is no vacancy for these posts as Narendra Modi is Prime Minister and Nitish Kumar is Chief Minister and they will remain on these posts.”

He highlighted the BJP pledged to give tickets to many first-time contesters, citing 25-year-old Maithili Thakur as an example of a young candidate the party has fielded from Alinagar in Darbhanga.

Amit Shah gave credit to the Centre on national security:

He also invoked national-security and law-and-order themes, praising the Centre for banning Popular Front of India (PFI) and for the repeal of Article 370.

The PFI was formed here, but the then Congress government had not banned it. PM Modi banned the PFI in a single night, conducting raids at more than 100 locations, and put the entire PFI behind bars. I promise that as long as there is even one BJP MP, we will not let a single PFI member out of jail,” he said.

“The Congress and Lalu Prasad Yadav protected Article 370 for 70 years. PM Modi abolished it forever,” he said.

Amit Shah highlighted welfare schemes:

Shah listed central and state welfare measures, including free healthcare insurance cover up to Rs 5 lakh, PM Kishan Samman Nidhi under which Rs 6,000 transfer annually to farmers, 5 KG foodgrain distribution under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the Rs 10,000 transfer to Jeevika Didis in Bihar under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, free electrictity up to 125 units and higher widow pensions—as achievements voters should remember.

Turning the local politics, Amit Shah reminded Darbhanga voters that the NDA had won 9 out of the district’s 10 seats in 2020 and appealed to them to return all 10 seats to the BJP-led coalition this time.
