Akhilesh Singh said centre is trying to paralyze Congress party using constitutional agencies.

Patna: Congress state president Akhilesh Prasad Singh said that the central government is trying to paralyze Congress party with the help of constitutional agencies in the country.

The statement of Akhilesh Prasad Singh came a day after the Income Tax department had frozen 11 bank accounts of Congress party. He also raised the question over the timing of the action just before the Lok Sabha election.

“Central government is trying to paralyze the Congress party with the help of constitutional agencies. The timing of the action is also under question mark. It has frozen the bank accounts just before the Lok Sabha election 2024. Still, we will fight the election with our full strength,” Singh said during the media briefing in the party’s state headquarter Sadakat Ashram in Patna on Friday.

“The Congress party objected to the electoral bonds in both the houses of parliament and the decision of the Supreme Court proved that the objection of the Congress party was right.  The Income Tax department froze 11 bank accounts of the Congress party only for Rs 14 lakh. The fine for this may be Rs 10 to 20 thousand but the department has frozen the bank accounts on the direction of the centre,” he said.

Reacting to RLJP chief Pashupati Kumar Paras who wants to join INDIA bloc, Singh said: “Pashupati Kumar Paras contacted me on phone and I have informed the same to the central leaders of the party and their decisions will be final,” Singh said.

When asked about the seat sharing formula of INDIA bloc for Bihar, Singh said: “The negotiation with RJD is in its final stage and it will be decided in one or two days.
