The meeting took place at the secretariat amidst rising tensions following Prashant Kishor’s ongoing hunger strike.

Jan Suraj Party, through a memorandum, demanded an independent inquiry into alleged irregularities and corruption in the 70th BPSC examination and the re-conduct of the exam, implementation of the unemployment allowance promised under the 7 Nischay program (2015) for youth aged 18-35 years, white papers on examination irregularities, a detailed report on irregularities, paper leaks, and actions taken over the past decade in competitive examinations in Bihar, punitive action against officials responsible for the misuse of force and turning Bihar into a “lathi-tantra” (baton-rule), undermining democratic principles and introduction of a domicile policy to ensure at least two-third of government job opportunities are reserved for Bihar’s youth.

The delegation included prominent Jan Suraj Party members, such as MLC Afaque Ahmed, former MP Sitaram Yadav, former MLA Kishore Kumar, retired officer Arvind Thakur, Lalan Yadav, and N.K. Mandal.

Jan Suraj Party leaders mentioned the health condition of Prashant Kishor:

Manoj Bharti emphasized the deteriorating health of Prashant Kishor, who remains in the ICU due to his hunger strike, and urged immediate government action to address the demands outlined in the memorandum.

After the meeting, Bharti stated, “The health condition of Prashant Kishor is worsening, and we have conveyed this to the Chief Secretary. We have also urged that the demands of the students be addressed swiftly. A meeting with the Chief Minister is crucial to resolve this situation.”

“Our demands reflect the voices of the youth and students of Bihar. If these demands are met, Prashant Kishor will consider ending his hunger strike,” Bharti said.

Jan Suraj Party response to political allegations:

Addressing political criticisms, Jan Suraj, Party acting president remarked, “We are focused on conducting peaceful Satyagraha. Allegations and counter-allegations hold no value in this situation. Our response lies in the dedication and seriousness of our movement.”

The meeting underscores the growing pressure on the Bihar government to address issues of corruption, youth unemployment, and systemic inefficiencies in competitive examinations.
