Patna, May 21, 2024: In a shocking incident, a government school teacher was brutally murdered by a jilted lover in Laxmipur village under Pranpur police station limits of Katihar district early Tuesday morning.
The accused Halchal Kumar stabbed on school teacher:
The victim, identified as Yashoda Devi, was on her way to the government primary school around 5:30 AM when the accused, Halchal Kumar, intercepted her, stabbed her multiple times, and then set her on fire after dousing her with petrol, police said.
“Preliminary investigation suggests there was a past love affair between them. The victim’s family also confirmed that a panchayat had been held earlier regarding their relationship,” said SDPO Sadar Abhijeet Kumar Singh.
Police recovered the body:
Police recovered the body and sent it for a postmortem at Sadar Hospital. An FIR has been registered against the accused, who is currently absconding. “Raids are on to nab him,” the officer added.”
