Varanasi June 27: A nine-year-old boy cancer-stricken child was taken charge of the Additional Director General of Police in Uttar Pradesh for a day on Tuesday.

A unique and heart-touching incident appeared in the ADGP office of Varanasi zone when the present ADG Piyush Mordia handed over the charge for a day to the child named Prabhat Ranjan Bharti to fulfill his last wish.

The child has a dream of becoming an IPS Office and his wish come true on Tuesday.

This has not only made the child happy but the officers and parents of Prabhat present there also became emotional.

Prabhat is the son of Ranjit Das and Sanju Devi, residents of Tekuna Ward No. 06 of Pratapganj block in Supaul district of Bihar. He is suffering from brain cancer. He is undergoing treatment at the Tata Memorial Center Hospital in Varanasi.

The wishes of seriously suffering children are fulfilled by an organization called “Make a Wish”. When the members of the organization met Prabhat in the cancer hospital, he expressed his desire to become an IPS. On knowing this, the ADG of Varanasi Zone Piyush Mordia called the child along with his father Ranjit and mother Sanju on Tuesday.

On the wish of Prabhat Ranjan, he was made ADG for a day. Prabhat took charge of ADG with the armed forces. During the entire process, policemen and guards saluted in the office. The one-day ADG inspected the office and the parade. After taking charge as ADG on Tuesday, IPS Piyush Mordia presented a bouquet to Prabhat. After this, he was made to sit on his chair with respect in the presence of the police team. All the policemen in the office met Prabhat and saluted him.

Prabhat was taken for a tour sitting in a gypsy. Prabhat is a student of UKG and his family, learned about his illness in November last year. The student looked happy after his wish was fulfilled.

“By fulfilling the wish of his little grandson, ADG Sir has followed humanity and police duty. We express our gratitude to him,” said Satan Das, the grandfather of Prabhat.

When he was examined at Viratnagar Nepal Hospital, it was found that he had cancer. The doctor referred him to Banaras. The victim’s father is working in Jeevika Pratapganj. Prabhat Ranjan has three siblings. He is the eldest among them. One brother is 3 years old and one sister is 5 years old.
