Tejashwi Yadav criticized Nitish Kumar for not responding to his letter and demanded action on the 9th scheduled inclusion.

Patna, June 9, 2025: The leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, has launched a fresh attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him of ignoring a critical letter regarding reservation rights for backward communities.

Taking to social media platform X on Monday, Tejashwi Yadav questioned the Chief Minister’s silence.

“Did Nitish Kumar not reply to my letter because he does not have an answer, or is it his habit, or are officials not even showing him the letter?”

Tejashwi Yadav demands for inclusion in the 9th scheduled:

Tejashwi Yadav’s letter has reportedly raised the issue of increasing the reservation cap to 65% for Dalit, tribal, backward and extremely backward castes in Bihar, and the inclusion of this provision in the 9th scheduled of the Constitution to protect it from judicial review.

The RJD leader took a direct swipe at CM Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, JItan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha, demanding they speak out against what he termed as the “usurpation of the rights” of marginalized communities.

“Why are the parties that beat the drum of social justice silent on this issue? And why is the Modi government, which depends on their support, failing to act on this critical issue?” Tejashwi asked.

Tejashwi Yadav calls for a special session:

Tejashwi Yadav dared Nitish Kumar to convene a one-day special session of Bihar assembly to discuss the matter.

“If Nitish Kumar is unable to speak on this subject in front of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, then he should call a special session of the Assembly.

Let the people of Bihar see how we get it implemented,” he said.

With the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections approaching, Tejashwi Yadav’s statement is seen as an attempt to intensify pressure on the NDA alliance and reignite the social justice agenda, which has been a core plank of the RJD’s politics.
