Rahul Gandhi’s Bihar 1-day visit sparks political backlash from NDA leaders.

Patna, June 6, 2025: As senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi embarks on a one-day tour of Gaya and Nalanda districts in Bihar, Prominent leaders from the ruling NDA have launched sharp attacks on him and the Congress party.

Jitan Ram Manjhi takes aim at Rahul Gandhi on social media:

Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi took to social media platform X to take a jibe at Rahul Gandhi’s visit, drawing comparisons between present-day Bihar and the era of the RJD-Congress alliance two decades ago.

“Welcome Rahul Gandhi to the good governance in Bihar. Bihar is no longer the same that Lalu Prasad’s RJD and the Gandhi family left us 20 years ago,” Manjhi wrote.

“If Rahul Gandhi had come to Bihar during Lalu Prasad’s rule, he could have been kidnapped, and Sonia Gandhi would have had to negotiate with criminals at the Chief Minister’s residence,” Manjhi further said.

Manjhi highlighted what he called a “fear-free environment” in the state today under the current NDA government.

Nitin Naveen accuses Congress of disrespecting Ambedkar:

Bihar’s Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen also took the opportunity to criticize the Congress, alleging historical neglect of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

“Rahul Gandhi should tell the nation why his party failed to honour Babasaheb Ambedkar. During Congress rule, exploitation of women was also at its peak,” Naveen said while speaking to reporters in Patna, demanding an apology from the Congress party.

Giriraj Singh criticized Rahul Gandhi’s actions:

Union Minister Giriraj Singh launched one of the most direct attacks accusing Gandhi of undermining the Indian armed forces.

“Rahul Gandhi who is visiting Bihar has spoken against our military and defamed the Indian Army at the global level. He even insulted the army’s symbol. His language resembles that of Pakistan,” Singh claimed.

Amid the political rhetoric, Gandhi arrived in Gaya, where he met the family of Dashrath Manjhi, popularly known as the “Mountain Man” for carving a path through a mountain over 22 years to connect his village to the nearest Wajirganj town.

Following his visit to Gaya, Rahul is scheduled to travel to Rajgir in Nalanda district to attend a Samvidhan Sammelan and return to Gaya to attend a ‘Mahila Samvad’ (Women’s Dialogue) program and visit Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, as part of his outreach to marginalized communities and women across the state.

This visit comes at a time when the Congress party is aiming to rebuild its grassroots presence in Bihar and rally support ahead of upcoming electoral battles.
