Nitish Kumar distributed appointment letters to 51389 teachers to boost education in government schools.

Patna March 9, 2025: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar handed over the appointment letters to teachers selected in the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 3 on Sunday at a program organized at Gandhi Maidan, Patna.

Nitish Kumar gave the first appointment to Nutan Kumari of Arwal district, who left her IT job to become a teacher.

Nitish Kumar personally handed over 100 appointment letters to the successful candidates:

During the event held at Patna Gandhi Maidan, 10,739 teachers received appointment letters from the hands of CM Nitish Kumar and other ministers of his cabinet.

100 teachers personally received appointment letters from Nitish Kumar.

The teacher recruitment drive comes amid Tejashwi Yadav’s criticism that Kumar failed to create jobs in Bihar.

The RJD staged a Dharna on the same day, demanding the implementation of 65% caste-based reservation in job appointments.

District-wise appointment distribution:

During the distribution ceremony, teachers from Patna, Nalanda, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Arwal, Saran, Vaishali and Muzaffarpur received the appointment letters. The other successful candidates from the remaining 30 districts received appointment letters at their respective headquarters following a directive issued by the director of primary education Sahila to all district magistrates.

Political reaction:

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Couudhary countered Tejashwi Yadav’s claim that Bihar has become “junk” under Nitish  Kumar.

Kumar transformed Bihar from junk to prosperity and has committed 50 lakh jobs,” Choudhary said.

Bihar’s water resource minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary also criticized RJD, stating that teacher recruitment through BPSC was a decision made by Kumar, but some are now trying to claim credit.

The education department also announced the distribution of 42,918 appointment letters of headmasters next month.
