Dilip Jaiswal criticized Tejashwi Yadav for taking credit for the reservation.

Patna November 30, 2024: Dilip Jaiswal, the state president of BJP criticized RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, claiming that the father-son duo’s assertions about championing reservation are unfounded. He credited Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for implementing reservation policies in Bihar.

“Tejashwi Yadav is a good speaker who always claims credit for giving reservation to the people of Bihar. But the fact is, he has not given any kind of reservation. It was Nitish Kumar who implemented it. I challenge Tejashwi Yadav to ask his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, how much reservation was given during his tenure,” Dilip Jaiswal said.

Dilip Jaiswal allegation is similar to the Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary:

Dilip Jaiswal’s remarks align with allegations made by Samrat Chaudhary during the winter session, which also saw a heated confrontation between Chaudhary and Tejashwi Yadav,

Tejashwi Yadav’s Response:

In response, Tejashwi Yadav defended his father’s record, highlighting Lalu Prasad Yadav’s decision to increase reservation for marginalized communities from 12% to 14% during his tenure as Chief Minister. Tejashwi asserted.

“Lalu Yadav’s government was the first to expand reservation benefits, increasing the quota for backward classes from 12% to 14%. Samrat Chaudhary’s statements are baseless and politically motivated.”

He also addressed the implementation of reservations in Panchayati Raj institutions, clarifying that while Nitish Kumar’s administration enacted the policy, its foundation was laid during Rabri Devi’s tenure as Chief Minister. The policy faced legal hurdles but eventually came to fruition.

Tejashwi Yadav accused Samrat Chaudhary of misrepresenting historical facts to serve political narratives. He noted Choudhary’s past association with the RJD and suggested that his current alignment with the BJP might be influencing his statements.

“Samrat Choudhary needs to learn his history. His comments not only misrepresent facts but also contradict his earlier stance when he was associated with the RJD,” Tejashwi said.

The debate underscores the enduring political sensitivity of reservation policies in Bihar, with leaders from all sides attempting to assert their contributions to this crucial issue. While the BJP leaders credit Nitish Kumar for implementing these policies, RJD leaders emphasize the foundational role played by Lalu Prasad Yadav’s government in advancing social justice measures.
