New Delhi August 6: An all-party meeting convened by the central government is currently underway in New Delhi to assess the turmoil in Bangladesh on Tuesday.

The meeting, held in Parliament House, is expected to discuss the latest situation in Bangladesh and its impact on India.

Following the worsening situation in Bangladesh, Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned from her post and left the country. She is currently in Delhi. She arrived at Ghaziabad’s Hindon Air Base late on Monday evening and is safe. It remains unclear which country she will take refuge in from India.

Key government representatives in the all-party meeting include Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju are present.

Apart from the prominent ministers of the central government, many big leaders of the opposition including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, TMC’s Sudip Bandopadhyay, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav are also in attendance.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has briefed the meeting on the latest situation in Bangladesh.
