Patna, April 30, 2024: BJP candidate from Patna Sahib, Ravishankar Prasad, on Tuesday accused opposition parties of spreading “lies” about the BJP’s stance on reservation to mislead voters.
Ravishankar Prasad says opposition leaders are lying:
“Congress and RJD leaders are claiming that if the BJP comes to power again, it will end reservation and change the Constitution. This is a baseless and shameful lie,” said the former Union Law Minister.
Prasad reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurance that the reservation system for SC, ST, and OBC communities will remain unchanged.
“The Supreme Court has clearly said that reservation is not based on religion. Babasaheb Ambedkar was also against religion-based reservation,” he added.
Targeting the Congress, Prasad alleged that the party had included Muslims in the OBC category in Karnataka and was planning a similar move in Telangana.
Ravishankar Prasad criticized Rahul Gandhi:
He also slammed Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on a proposed heritage tax, claiming, “Rahul Gandhi wants to survey people’s property and take revolutionary decisions. This is a Maoist mindset aimed at grabbing the property of common citizens.”
Prasad said such statements reflect the “frustration and disappointment” of the opposition in the face of an impending defeat.
