Patna, May 24, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a scathing attack on the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), dubbed it the Mahalathbandhan during a massive rally in the oil refinery district of Begusarai.
PM Modi said the contrast between the ruling NDA and the opposition alliance had become clear since the announcement of the Bihar Assembly elections.
On one side is the NDA, with the experienced leadership of Nitish Kumar, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Upendra Kushwaha, and Chirag Paswan, strengthened by BJP leaders like Dilip Jaiswal, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha. On the other side is the Mahalathbandhan (Mahagathbandhan), which is resorting to violence and intimidation,” he said.
Mocking the opposition bloc, Narendra Modi remarked, “These people may say anything on camera, but behind the scenes, they are targeting each other. This Mahalathbandhan is made up of Atak Dal, Latak Dal, Jhatak Dal, Ghatak Dal and Patak Dal.”
PM Narendra Modi said RJD lost all elections in the last 20 years:
Taking aim at the RJD’s track record, he said, “The RJD hasn’t won a single election in the last two decades, yet it remains steeped in arrogance. They side-lined the JMM (JMM Ko Jhatak Diya), have kept Congress subservient for 35 years, misled the VIP party, and even left the Left parties hanging.”

Criticizing the RJD’s rule, Narendra Modi said, “The accused of Jungle Raj only secured the future of their own sons and daughters while destroying the future of Bihar’s youth. Every household in Begusarai knows this pain.” Recalling the legacy of Shri Babu (Shri Krishna Singh, the first Chief Minister of Bihar), Narendra Modi said, “Shri Babu worked to make Begusarai an industrial hub. But when Jungle Raj came, that dark period of fear and lawlessness shut down industries and drove away investors. Those locks were not just on factories—they were locks on Bihar’s future.”
PM Narendra Modi highlighted the achievements of the double-engine government:
Highlighting the NDA’s achievements, PM Narendra Modi said, “For us, development is top priority. We know that when industries grow, jobs follow. That’s why we freed Bihar from Jungle Raj and restored the rule of law. Since the formation of the double-engine government in 2014, Begusarai has been regaining its industrial identity and is moving towards becoming a major industrial hub again.”
Slamming the RJD and Congress further, PM Narendra Modi said, “There are problems in themselves—insensitive people who mock the poor even during floods. They neither have solutions to Bihar’s issues nor the will to serve.”

Concluding his address, PM Narendra Modi urged people to use their vote wisely.
Your one vote will decide Bihar’s prosperity and strengthen the resolve to build a developed India. You have always trusted Modi and showered blessings on Nitish Kumar. This love and faith are taking Bihar towards a new era of development,” he said.
PM Narendra Modi began his election campaign from Bihar’s Samastipur, the birthplace of Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur, on Friday.
