Patna May 31: With all set for the election commission to conduct the seventh and the final phase of polling, a total of 134 candidates are in the fray in the eight seats of Bihar. Among them, 122 candidates are male and 12 are female candidates.
This includes 23 candidates belongs to national and state recognized parties, 68 other regional parties and 43 independent candidates.
A maximum of 8 candidates of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are contesting on the 8 seats in the final phase followed by BJP which is contesting on the 5 seats. RJD is contesting on 3 seats, CPI-ML 2 seats, Congress 2 and JD-U 2 seats in Bihar.
The polling on all 8 seats will start at 7 am on Saturday and a total of 1 crore, 62 lakh, 04 thousand 594 total voters will decide the fate of 134 candidates. This include 85 lakh 01 thousand 620 male, 77 lakh 02 thousand 559 female and 415 third gender voters.
In Nalanda, a maximum of 29 candidates are trying their luck on this seat followed by Patliputra where 22 candidates are in fray. In Patna Sahib, 17 candidates, 15 candidates in Jahanabad, 14 candidates in Arrah, 14 candidates in Buxar, 13 in Karakat and only 10 in Sasaram (SC Reserved) seat.
Patna Sahib has the highest number of electors among all 8 seats. A total of 22 lakh 92 thousand 045 voters will decide the fate of 17 candidates. This includes 12 lakh 08 thousand male, 10 lakh 83 thousand 934 female and 111 third gender voters.
In Nalanda, a total of 22 lakh 88 thousand 240 voters will decide the fate on 29 candidates including 11 lakh 96 thousand 965 male, 10 lakh 91 thousand 206 female and 69 third gender voters.
In Arrah, there are 21 lakh 65 thousand 574 total voters in this constituency where 11 lakh 51 thousand 480 male, 10 lakh 14 thousand 061 female and 33 third gender voters.
In Patliputra, a total of 20 lakh 73 thousand 685 voters including 10 lakh 89 thousand278 male, 9 lakh 84 thousand 351 female and 56 third gender voters.
In Buxar, a total of 19 lakh 23 thousand 164 voters are in this constituency including 10 lakh 06 thousand 224 male, 09 lakh 16 thousand 923 female and 17 third gender voters.
Sasaram has a total of 19 lakh 10 thousand 368 voters in this constituency including 9 lakh 96 thousand 416 male, 9 lakh 13 thousand 925 female and 27 third gender voters.
Karakat has 18 lakh 81 thousand 191 total voters including 9 lakh 80 thousand 045 male, 9 lakh 01 thousand 076 female and 70 third gender voters.
Jahanabad has a minimum 16 lakh 70 thousand 327 voters including 8 lakh 73 thousand 212 male, 7 lakh 97 thousand 083 female and 32 third gender voters.
The election commission will use 27947 ballot units, 19961 control units and 21624 VVPATs in the electoral exercise on June 1. EOM.
