Trophy Gaurav Yatra to commence for Women’s Hockey.

Patna October 14, 2024: Bihar is gearing up to host the prestigious Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at the forefront of preparations.
He will launch Trophy Gaurav Yatra, on Monday, October 14, 2024, from his residence at 1 Anne Marg, Patna, at 4.00 PM.
Trophy Gaurav Yatra will cross five states including Bihar:
The Trophy Gaurav Yatra will travel through all 38 districts of Bihar as well as Punjab, Haryana, Odisha and Jharkhand from October 14 to November 10, building excitement across the region.
Trophy Gaurav Yatra comes after Nitish Kumar recently unveiled the official logo and mascot of the tournament, demonstrating the state’s commitment to hosting the event.
The Bihar government has sanctioned Rs 10 crore for the tournament:
The Bihar government has already approved a budget of Rs 10 crore to support the championship, which will take place at the newly constructed Rajgir Hockey Stadium from November 11 to 20, 2024.
The stadium, located within the Rajgir International Sports Complex, is set to be a premier venue for women’s hockey. The Trophy Gaurav Yatra will also cross through Rajgir which, falls under the Nalanda district of Bihar.
Rajgir Sports Complex will be completed in 2025:
The Rajgir International Sports Complex, spanning 90 acres, stands out as a unique facility in India, offering training for 24 sports disciplines simultaneously.
Originally budgeted at Rs 750 crore, the project cost has escalated to Rs 851 crore and it’s expected to reach Rs 1100 crore by the time the International Cricket Stadium is completed in 2025.
The ambitious project was initiated on October 12, 2018, with a vision to develop it into a world-class sports hub.
Currently, it provides facilities for 19 sports in its first phase, with plans to expand further in the future.
The complex includes a wide range of facilities such as an administrative building, an academic wing, lecture halls, a residential complex hostel, dining halls, a museum, and a library.
There is also a control room and a 24-bed medical ward, fully equipped with modern healthcare services like CT scans, X-rays, physiotherapy, and massage therapy.
