The Nitish Kumar government will transfer Rs 10,000 each to 10 lakh Jeevika Didis on November 28.

Patna, November 27, 2025: The Nitish Kumar government will transfer Rs 10,000 each to the bank accounts of 10 lakh Jeevika Didis on Friday, November 28, under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana 2025.

This marks the first instalment distributed after the Bihar Assembly elections.

So far, the government has transferred benefits to 1.4 crore women under the scheme, across the state.

Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar announced that the transfer to all eligible beneficiaries will be completed by December 14.

CM Nitish Kumar will transfer through DBT:

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will personally initiate the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) during Friday’s event.

“Provisions are being made to transfer funds to all eligible Jeevika Didis in phases by December 14. All eligible Jeevika Didis are going to benefit from scheme,” said Shravan Kumar, Rural Development Minister of Bihar.

Under Friday’s tranche, 9.5 lakh rural and 50,000 urban women associated with Jeevika self-help groups will receive the assistance.

According to officials, the amount has already been released to eligible beneficiaries based on applications received up to September 6, taking the total number of women who have received funds so far to 1.4 crore.

Purpose of the assistance:

The government has clarified that the Rs 10,000 assistance is meant solely for employment-related activities.

It is classified as a government grant.

Under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, the Nitish Kumar government has also announced a six-month loan facility, along with an assurance of additional assistance of up to 2 lakh after assessment.
