Tejashwi Yadav unveils ‘reservation master plan’, challenges BJP-RSS on social justice.

Patna, May 2, 2025: Bihar politics witnessed a dramatic turn as Leader of Opposition and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a blistering attack on the BJP-RSS and unveiled a sweeping ‘Reservation Master plan’ that could reshape the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

In a fiery post on social media platform X, Tejashwi accused the Modi-led central government of co-opting the RJD’s social justice agenda.

“The narrow and negative Sang his, BJP people with a high mentality, anti-equality, will abuse us even on this, but later adopt our agenda and claim it as their masterstroke. How hollow are these people?” he said, directly challenging the ideological core of the BJP-RSS.

Key features of Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘reservation master plan’:

Tejashwi Yadav’s plan is centered on expanding reservation and representation for marginalized communities which includes reserved constituencies for backward and extremely backward castes to boost political representation.

Apart from this, reservation in the Private Sector for Dalits, backward classes, and economically weaker sections, reservation in government and private contracts, ensuring economic inclusion, reservation in the Judiciary, a long-debated issue among social justice advocates, full implementation of Mandal Commission recommendations, proportional reservation based on caste census data, special state status and Economic Package for Bihar from the Centre.

Calling it “just the beginning,” Tejashwi claimed that this initiative would give a new direction to Bihar politics, placing social justice and equity at the forefront.

RJD supporters hailed it as a historic push for marginalized voices while BJP and its allies are expected to dismiss the plan as vote bank politics. Analysts see it as an aggressive attempt by RJD to reclaim the social justice narrative, especially in the wake of the central.

Government’s caste census move:

Tejashwi Yadav had earlier termed the caste census announcement by the Modi government as a victory for socialists, crediting long-time efforts of RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav.

With the Bihar Assembly elections approaching, this bold positioning by Tejashwi may force the NDA to recalibrate its strategy on issues of representation and equality.
