Prashant Kishor stopped from entering Nitish Kumar’s village, alleging fear of exposure.

Patna, May 18, 2025: Tension flared on Sunday as Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishor was barred by the district administration from entering Kalyan Bigha, the native village of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, located in Nalanda district.
The move triggered a sharp political reaction from Kishor, who accused the administration of shielding corruption and obstructing democratic expression.
Prashant Kishor had arrived in Nalanda to kick start his “Signature of Change” campaign, aimed at exposing what he termed broken promises and rising corruption under Nitish Kumar’s leadership.
He planned to visit Kalyan Bigha as a symbolic gesture to evaluate the much-publicized development work claimed by the Chief Minister.
However, security personnel stopped Kishor’s convoy before it could enter the village.
In response, he shifted his program to Bihar Sharif, where he addressed a large public rally.
“Truth is being hidden”—Prashant Kishor slammed administration:
Addressing the rally, Prashant Kishor said, “Nalanda is the home district of Bihar’s beloved Chief Minister. We were going to his village, Kalyan Bigha, to see the development work that he often talks about. But the police blocked our entry. Why? Because the truth would have come out.”
He alleged widespread bribery and corruption, particularly in government services such as ration card issuance and land documentation.
People we met along the way told us that officers and leaders are taking bribes even for basic services. The poor are suffering,” he said.
Call for political awareness:
In a passionate appeal, Prashant Kishor urged the people of Bihar Sharif to vote with awareness in the upcoming elections.
“Don’t vote for Lalu, Nitish or Modi. Look at the faces of your children and vote for their future. Don’t elect the leaders who have looted you. Vote for change, vote for your rights,” he said.

The district administration has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the reason behind the restriction.
However, the incident is likely to intensify political debates in the run-up to the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, as Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party continues to position itself as an alternative to traditional power blocs in the state.
