New Delhi, June 15, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met several global leaders during the G7 Summit in Italy.
Narendra Modi met Giorgia Meloni:
After meeting his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni, PM Modi posted photographs on his official X handle and said he had a “very good meeting” with her. He thanked her for inviting India to participate in the G7 Summit and for “wonderful arrangements.”
“We discussed ways to further cement India—Italy relations in areas like commerce, energy, defence, telecom and more. Our nations will work together in futuristic areas like biofuels, food processing and critical minerals,” Modi wrote.
Later, PM Modi said he had a “very productive day” at the G7 Summit in Apulia, adding that he interacted with world leaders and discussed a wide range of subjects. “Together, we aim to create impactful solutions that benefit the global community and create a better world for future generations,” he added.
PM Modi also met Pope Francis:
PM Modi also met Pope Francis on the sidelines of the summit. “I admire his commitment to serving people and making our planet better. Also invited him to visit India,” he said.
