Pappu Yadav will file a defamation suit against a furniture trader.

Patna June 11: Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on Tuesday said that he is going to file a defamation suit against a furniture trader for maligning his image. Yadav also alleged a deep conspiracy behind the allegation of extortion against him.

Pappu Yadav said that the furniture trader who made the allegation about him is a controversial person. He demanded a thorough investigation into this case.

“The person who has filed a case of extortion against me is a big liar and has taken money from many people. When people ask for money, he abuses them under the influence of alcohol. He has already been a controversial person and has filed false cases against many people,” Pappu Yadav said.

“I met Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi on Monday. After that, such an allegation was made against me. It can be understood that there is a big conspiracy behind it,” Pappu Yadav said.

“I will file a defamation case against that furniture businessman who leveled allegation of extortion against me. I also demanded that the entire case should be investigated by a Supreme Court judge. I have talked to my lawyer regarding this matter and will soon file a defamation case against that person for making false allegations,” he said.

Questioning the role of the district police in this case, Pappu Yadav said: “It is hard to believe that the district police has registered an FIR against me on the complaint of such a person. Not only that, the district police also uploaded press releases on social media. It is a deep conspiracy behind the allegation of extortion,” he said.

Earlier on Monday, a furniture businessman from Purnea filed an extortion case against MP Pappu Yadav and his close aide Amit Yadav. In the statement given to the police, the businessman alleged that “extortion has been demanded from him continuously since 2021. After winning the election, Pappu Yadav and Amit Yadav allegedly even said that if you do not pay one crore rupees, you will have to leave Purnea.”

The Purnea police registered an FIR against Pappu Yadav and his aide Amit Yadav at Mufassil police station on Monday. The Purnea SP formed a team for the investigation into the entire matter.

After being accused of demanding extortion, MP Pappu Yadav is continuously giving his clarification on public platforms. He uploaded a post on his official X handle on Monday night and said “People are upset with my growing influence in the politics of the country and the state and the growing affection of the common people have hatched a disgusting conspiracy in Purnea.”
