Patna July 23: Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar expressed satisfaction after the union finance minister allocated numerous infrastructure projects for the state in her budget speech.
Nitish Kumar is pleased with the Union budget: While reacting to the budget speech of the Union finance minister, Nitish Kumar said that the central government may not give special category status to Bihar but has begun providing special help to the state.
“We had urged the central government for either give special category status or special help to Bihar. It is our longstanding demand. Our state has to go forward and it needed special help. Now, they have started special help for Bihar,” Kumar said.

“After coming into power in November 2005, we have done many things for Bihar. There were no roads in the state but now you can see the roads and development of Bihar. Look at Patna; it has immensely developed,” he said.
Nitish Kumar slammed opposition leaders: “The opposition leaders are unnecessarily saying that the central government has denied special category status. I always say that special help is required here and the central government has started it,” he said.
Centre allocated Rs 26000 crore projects: The central government has allocated Rs 26000 crore for numerous infrastructural projects including three expressways, a two-lane bridge on the Ganga River in Buxar and a power station in Pirpainti and an industrial hub in Gaya district.
This development is seen as a positive step towards the state’s growth and development, addressing its unique needs and challenges.
