M A baby reaches Patna and pushes for the Grand Alliance to defeat BJP in Bihar poll 2025.

Patna, May 5, 2025: In a significant political development ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, M A Baby, the newly appointed National General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), arrived in Patna on Monday to review the political situation and strengthen coordination within the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance).
Speaking to the media at Patna airport, Baby said: “There will be a discussion with the leaders of our party. We will discuss the strategy of how to defeat the BJP in Bihar and how to take the Mahagathbandhan forward in the upcoming crucial assembly election in the state. After the discussion, we will share with the media persons.”
M A Baby visit Patna is crucial ahead of nationwide bandh:
M a baby’s visit comes at a time when the left parties CPI, CPI(M), and CPI-ML have announced a nationwide Bharat Bandh on May 20 in support of labor rights and worker welfare.
The bandh is expected to serve as both a protest and a show of strength by the opposition alliance. The Grand Alliance leaders show solidarity for the nationwide bandh:

During a recent meeting of the Grand Alliance, CPI-ML leader Dipankar Bhattacharya announced: “The Bharat Bandh on May 20 will advocate for the rights of workers, and all parties in the Mahagathbandhan will support it. It will serve as a demonstration of our unity before the elections.”
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav reaffirmed support for the bandh:
“We will come out on the streets and express our protest.”
The opposition alliance is also sharpening its attack on both the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government and the central government. Congress legislature Party Leader Dr. Shakeel Ahmad Khan accused the center of acting arbitrarily and criticized the Bihar government’s policies as “Anti-people.” He stressed the need for a coordinated public outreach strategy across the alliance.

Adding to the call for unity, Vikasheel Insaan Party chief Mukesh Sahani emphasized: “All Mahagathbandhan constituents must work together with a common election manifesto, a united campaign, and a clear strategy. We must fight this election collectively to remove the current government.”
The coordinated efforts and upcoming bandh signal a more assertive opposition posture as the Mahagathbandhan prepares to take on the BJP-led NDA in one of the most politically significant states of India.
