Jitan Ram Manjhi softens stands on the seats. Reaffirms NDA unity and Nitish’s CM candidature for 2025 polls.

Patna, April 18, 2025: Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) chief and Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who earlier insisted on contesting 40 to 50 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, has now adopted a more cautious tone regarding seat sharing within the NDA.

Jitan Ram Manjhi claimed NDA will contest unitedly:

In response to questions about the number of seats HAM, Manjhi emphasized the unity of NDA, stating: “The NDA is contesting all seats. We are prepared for all.

There is no dispute over seat sharing. We will all sit together, decide, and contest unitedly.”

On the chief ministerial face of the NDA, Manjhi strongly reiterated that Nitish Kumar will lead the alliance in the 2025 elections, leaving no room for ambiguity. “There is no need to draw any other meaning. Nitish Kumar will be our CM. Even Amit Shah has made it clear,” Manjhi said.

Jitan Ram Manjhi criticized the Grand Alliance leaders:

Turning his attention to the opposition Grand Alliance, Manjhi downplayed the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav, who was made chairman of the Grand Alliance’s coordination committee. He remarked: “He may be the chairman, but he has not been accepted as the leader. There will never be unity among them, and they will never declare Tejashwi Yadav as the CM face.” Manjhi also took a swipe at VIP chief Mukesh Sahani, whose name has surfaced in speculation around possible re-engagement with the BJP.

While acknowledging that such moves are Sahani’s personal matter, Manjhi dismissed any serious political future for him.

“The Grand Alliance will never make him Deputy CM. The public will not bless him, and he will not win,” Manjhi said in a separate development, Jitan Ram Manjhi lashed out at the Mamta Banerjee-led West Bengal government, condemning recent incidents of violence and urging the central government to intervene.

“What’s happening under Mamta Benerjee’s rule cannot be ignored. Law and order is being flouted and the Centre must act,” Manjhi said.

With these statements, Jitan Ram Manjhi appears to be reinforcing his party’s alignment with the NDA, backing Nitish Kumar’s leadership, and signaling a consolidated front ahead of the crucial 2025 Bihar polls, even as he distances himself from earlier aggressive posturing on seats
