Grand success for Deepa Kumari Manjhi as she won the Imamganj seat with a margin of 5945 votes.

Patna November 23, 2024: The Bihar Assembly by-elections have delivered a significant boost to the NDA, with Deepa Kumari Manjhi winning the Imamganj assembly seat. Apart from that NDA also secured victory in three other contested seats: Ramgarh, Tarari, and Belaganj.

The results, announced on Friday, have been hailed as a major success for the coalition.

Deepa Kumari Manjhi won in the tight contest:

Deepa Manjhi, daughter-in-law of Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) Chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, also secured the victory in a tightly contested race.

She secured 53435 votes after 15 rounds of voting, RJD’s Raushan Kumar, who garnered 47490 votes. She won the contest by 5945 votes. The Jan Suraj Party candidate Jitendra Paswan, finished third with 37103 votes.

A total of nine candidates contested the Imamganj seat. Initially trailing in the first three rounds of counting, Deepa Manjhi gained momentum in the fourth and fifth rounds, ultimately securing the lead and maintaining it until the final round of counting.

The Bihar by-poll has given a huge boost to NDA as all four seats won here on Friday.

The Assembly by-elections were held on four seats  Bihar, Ramgarh, Tarari, Imamganj and Belaganj.

Jitan Ram Manjhi expressed gratitude after the victory of Deepa Kumari Manjhi:

“One of the most notable wins was in the Imamganj reserved constituency, where Deepa Kumari Manjhi, the NDA-backed candidate from Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), emerged victorious with a margin of nearly 6,000 votes,” said Jitan Ram Manjhi, the union MSME minister.

Manjhi, expressed his gratitude to the people of Imamganj, attributing the victory to their faith in the development agenda of the NDA.

“This win symbolizes the aspirations for a progressive India envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar. I also thank prominent NDA leaders, Including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhry, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Chirag Paswan, and Pashupati Kumar Paras for supporting Deepa Manjhi.

Pashupati Kumar Paras, President of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), also congratulated Deepa Manjhi, referring to her as the daughter-in-law of leading Dalit leader and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Paras highlighted the importance of this victory in advancing the region’s development and strengthening the NDA’s presence.

The by-election result reflects strong support for the NDA in Bihar, reinforcing its political momentum in the state.
