Patna July 23: Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister Samrat Choudhary, thanks Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for allocating Rs 26000 crore for the various infrastructural projects for Bihar on Tuesday.
Deputy Chief Minister appreciated the Union budget: The statement of Samrat Choudhary came after the Union Finance Minister presented the union budget in the Lok Sabha.
“The union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has addressed every sector for the development of Bihar whether be three expressways, medical colleges or new airports.The centre has opened its treasury for Bihar. I want to thank PM Narendra Modi and FM Nirmala Sitharaman for it,” Choudhary said.
Infrastructure boost for Bihar: “The three expressways connecting Patna will significantly develop Bihar. Patna will be directly connected to Purnea and will provide the people of Seemanchal with direct access to the state capital. The Buxar-Bhagalpur expressway will also connect Patna and is expected to be constructed on the Ganga basin and tourist places like Bodh Gaya and Rajgir will be also connected with Patna through the expressway. The finance minister has also said in her speech to develop an industrial hub in Gaya as well,” the deputy chief minister said.
Deputy Chief Minister claimed other sectors parallelly run: “Additionally, the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana, Prime Minister Awas Yojana and other projects will be simultaneously carried out in Bihar. Around 13 lakh houses will be provided to poor people in Bihar under the PM Awas Yojana,” Choudhary said.

“The finance ministry has already approved Rs 11000 crore for the flood affected resigns in North Bihar. This will help to construct dams and embankments on the various rivers to prevent flood in the region. The way, PM Narendra Modi has allocated many projects to poor states like Bihar, is a proud moment for every person of the state,” the deputy Chief Minister said.
Opposition disappointed with the budget: Meanwhile, RJD claimed this budget has nothing for the common people of Bihar. They have criticized the budget, claiming it is dedicated to corporate interests.
Bhai Virendra, the four-time MLA from the Maner assembly constituency, remarked that these infrastructural projects are not new to Bihar. He questioned BJP leaders on how these projects would benefit the common people of Bihar.
“In this budget, the finance minister has not provided any idea of how the center would create jobs for unemployed people. She has not addressed the issues of youth, farmers, women, and laborers in her budget speech. This budget is only for the corporate sector,” Bhai Virendra said.
When asked about the Rs 26,000 crore allocated for infrastructural projects, Bhai Virendra responded that similar projects were announced by previous governments as well.
“Bihar needs special category status, which the central government has denied. Hence, I am against this budget,” he stated.
Rabri Devi, the former chief minister of Bihar, said: “The central government has given Jhunjhuna (toy) to Bihar. This budget has nothing for the common people of Bihar.”
